Hope to finish these conversions and send them home by Christmas. The left one is a J-66, for myself, to convert it into a wide angle 4x5 snap shooter, for 47, 58,and 65mm lens.
Yeah, you are right, cost down if someday I make it for living. Now I'd rather keep improving Byron than making lots of Byrons. I cherish existing customers and treat them as lifetime good friends. because they appreciate my designs and craftsmanship, and financially support my project. The next big project in plan is to make it a multi-focal-coupled rangefolder, all Byron owners will be free to upgrade, only shipping fee required.
Considering the design and workmanship, the pricing seems pretty reasonable to me. I would buy at that price if I could afford it. Doesn't seem like there would be the volume for economies of scale, and then it would only be a job instead of a passion. For the time being I can only admire the Byron and enjoy working on my own much less sophisticated conversion. Keep up the good work, I love following it on your blog.

Cost down and more Byrons in the world.
